MISIN Invasive Species Training

June 6: 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Join Huron Pines to learn how you can use the Midwest Invasive Species Information Network (MISIN) app and website to learn how to better identify and report the invasive species you see while spending time outside.

MISIN is a regional effort to develop and provide early detection and response resources for invasive species. It assists both experts and community scientists in the detection and identification of invasive species in support of successful management.

The MISIN smartphone app provides a mobile solution for the capture of invasive species field observation data. You can play an important role in the early detection and rapid response to new invasive threats in your area by contributing invasive species observations to the MISIN database.

This training will be held virtually on Zoom.

This project is funded in part by the Michigan Invasive Species Grant Program (Michigan.gov/invasives).

We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. It is a priority for Huron Pines to ensure that our communications and programming are available and accessible to everyone. Please contact maddie@huronpines.org if you have any questions about accessibility or believe barriers remain.

We recognize that accessibility is not always possible in every area of our work. Our efforts are ongoing. Through a commitment to continued learning and understanding, we will strengthen our awareness of the barriers and inequities that exist at the individual and community levels, in order to advance more equitable opportunities to experience the outdoors in our region.
