Spring Opener: Emily Min Hunt Preserve
June 3, 2022: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Celebrate the season with a visit to the Emily Min Hunt Preserve. Meet our staff, take part in a nature observation scavenger hunt, or just explore the preserve. A guided hike will take place at 4:00pm. We will be there rain or shine, so come explore with us even if it’s rainy. Since this event is outside, be prepared with sturdy shoes and comfortable clothes for a casual outdoor adventure. Our trails are natural surfaces and may be uneven or contain small obstacles.
There will be light snacks and water to refill your bottles, so be sure to bring one. We are working toward hosting zero-waste events, and we appreciate your cooperation in this. Please note that there are no bathroom facilities on-site.
Parking will be at the property directly to the west of the preserve driveway, at 15763 Shubert Highway. There will be a sign at the driveway entrance.
A NEW WAY TO EXPLORE YOUR FAVORITE PLACES
Throughout the day, we will be demonstrating how you can use the iNaturalist app to track and identify plant and animal species while you’re out in nature. We will have a scavenger hunt and nature identification activities. The data you capture on our preserves helps us understand the health of the landscape and inform stewardship decisions.
How to get started with iNaturalist
- Download the app from your phone’s app store before the hike
