Please RSVP here by August 20, 2019

Forestry is more than just cutting down trees. It’s a science that allows our society to continue to use wood in our daily lives. It’s also an art, that allows us to create habitat for wildlife and aesthetically pleasing landscapes on our homesteads.

We will meet at the Discovery Center at 6:00pm for a brief introduction before departing for a tour that will explore different forest landscapes and approaches to stewardship that support wildlife and forest health. The tour and discussion will run from 6:15pm to 8:30pm with time to share resources and answer closing questions from 8:30pm to 9:00pm.

We will provide water, please bring a refillable water bottle and wear clothes that are appropriate for walking in the woods.

Presented by Huron Pines, Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Michigan State University Extension.Funding for this event was provided in part by the Michigan DNR Wildlife Habitat Grant and The Great Lakes Fishery Trust.
